Dr. Ry Wagner Among Featured Speakers at 5th Plant Genomics and Gene Editing Congress: Europe
DAVIS, CA. (MARCH 9, 2017)―Dr. Ry Wagner, Agrinos chief executive officer, has been selected to speak at the Plant Genomics and Gene Editing Congress in Amsterdam on March 16 – 17.
Wagner will take part in a panel discussion titled, “The Potential of Investing in the Plant Microbiome.” The discussion will cover investment opportunities, the current status of the plant microbiome industry in Europe and the commercial applications of plant microbiome research. The panel will also discuss the future of the plant microbiome market and how business and academia can collaborate to advance plant microbiome research.
In a separate presentation titled, “Discovering and Commercializing the Soil Microbiome to Improve Crop Productivity,” Wagner will address the critical role the soil microbiome plays in plant growth and development. He will also discuss the integral role microbial crop inputs will have as agricultural practices continue to embrace innovative microbial-based products to improve the productivity and sustainability of global agriculture.
The Plant Genomics and Gene Editing Congress examines the latest in gene editing methods as well as exploring developments in next-generation sequencing (NGS) and omic technologies being used for progressing plant-based research in aspects such as crop trait development, epigenetics, phenotyping, plant microbiome
and disease resistance as well as understanding tools to overcome bottlenecks and enable successful data analysis and management.
Since 2014 Dr. Wagner has served as chief executive officer of Agrinos. Under his leadership Agrinos has become a worldwide leader in developing novel biological solutions to improve crop yield, health and quality. He is the author of over 30 scientific research publications and is an inventor with over 50 patents issued.
